Inspirational speaker and author of the book "Choices: The Power Is Within You," Sherry Brantley is known for her dynamic, energetic seminars and workshops. As she states: "I was homeless, jobless, car-less and hopeless--all at the same time, but thankfully not clueless!" Sherry's belief: "We all have a Spiritual, Personal Power. We have always possessed this power. The power is within us. All of us. Without exception. We can learn to tap into this power on a daily basis, to begin to make positive choices in how our lives should go, resulting in the changes that we want to accomplish. There is a universal law that states: 'What you focus on in life, you expand in your life.' Begin to focus on what you want to expand in your life!"

Start To Exercise Personal Power (STEPP©) a program founded by Sherry, is designed to not merely assist people of various backgrounds to realize their potential, goals and purpose in life, but also assist them in specific ways in which to implement and complete these goals.


Sherry's purpose in life is to assist others in their own empowerment process by sharing with them tools, skills, and techniques that can be used immediately. Her workshops, seminars, and retreats are fun, lively, entertaining, and interactive, as she takes you on the "never-ending journey of power." She has spent over twenty years motivating groups. Her workshop titles include: "The Advanced Me," "Raising 'YOU CAN' Kids," "Tapping Into Your Personal Power," "'Write' to 'Right' Your Life," "Goal-Setting in 'Bite-Sized' Chews," "The R.A.V.E. Way," and more!

Sherry has been in demand to speak at universities, community colleges, public schools, women's organizations and various associations. Sherry's second book, "Best of Friends," which details the relationship of the 'Fabulous Five,' women who have created a friendship that endures the test of time, has won two 'National Awards for Best Fiction of the Year!'

As a writer of the "Voices" column for her local newspaper, Sherry wrote inspirational/motivational pieces to inspire others to positive action. Her first true story, "More Than A Penny's Worth," is still a favorite for her audiences to hear.

In 1990, She was sought by Senator Riegle's U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs in Lansing, Michigan, as a spokesperson sharing the many needs and concerns of the homeless. Her public appearance generated statewide attention to the plight associated with homelessness and assisted Senator Riegle's task force in their efforts to address those needs effectively. Sherry also worked diligently with an organization whose goal was to provide affordable, decent housing for low-to-moderate income families. Many of the families she worked closely with had never before conceived moving into a home of their own. She was able to assist them through the process of not only owning their dream homes, but of understanding and appreciating their right to do so.

In 1994, she was sworn in by President Bill Clinton as an inductee in his Americorps initiative program. Her powerful poem "What Americorps Means To Me" was a national favorite among her Americorps Team.

In 1995, she was given recognition as an Outstanding Americorps Member by the Michigan Community Service Commission, headed by Gubernatorial First Lady Michelle Engler.
